Acne is a chronic inflammatory disease of pilosebaceous unit, characterised most commonly by comedones (blackheads/whiteheads), macules, papules and pustules and in more severe cases by nodules cysts and scars. The single basic cause of any one individual to develop acne is difficult to categorically identify.
